ABOUT LAURA KENNAN

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field as a clinical psychologist, supervisor, senior manager, and mental health trainer, Laura has a wealth of knowledge and expertise which she loves sharing with others through training and supervision.  

 

She has worked in a diverse range of sectors, including community health, not-for-profit, tertiary education, and private practice providing her with invaluable insights into the nature and challenges of these workplaces.  

 

Laura has treated individuals experiencing a wide range of mental health problems, such as depression, anxiety, trauma and adjustment issues and has experience with a range of different therapeutic modalities including CBT, ACT, Schema Therapy and Couples Therapy.

Laura is passionate about supporting psychologists in training and early career psychologists through clinical supervision.  She offers tailored supervision to provisional psychologists completing Masters placements, as well as those on the 4+2 and 5+1 pathways. She also provides expert guidance to Clinical Registrars and fully registered psychologists, supporting their ongoing development and professional growth.

She has a deep commitment to empowering others through mental health training and raising awareness of mental health issues in the workplace.   Laura is an accredited Mental Health First Aid instructor and also works closely with organisations to create bespoke wellbeing programs.  Her extensive experience in the mental health field enriches her training and enables her to address concerns arising in the workplace comprehensively.  

 

In the near future Laura also hopes to help organisations assess and manage psychosocial risk.
